well with a few changes here and there, some good and bad/sad, i am the proud new (kind of) roommate of the following girls:

hollzballz (pronounced [hallzballz]):

she is well traveled. great cook (well good breakfast burritos-thats all i’ve had.) horrible british accent. half hawaiin. laughs at almost everything…definitely makes you feel like you’re the funniest person alive. super smart. and has been my unofficial roommate at my current house for the past year or so. but we’ll be changing that in less than two weeks…she will soon be my official roommate. and cook me breakfast burritos. lets not forget shes a great friend. i’m pretty sure my family would like to switch me for her. sad but true.

gingy (pronounced [gin-GEE])

chelsey oliver. has the voice of a disney princess. she is probably one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. has a very normal addiction to diet coke (three 32oz. DC’s from QT in ONE day is normal right??), has the same love if not greater as i do for disneyland (phew-i’m not alone). has adorable style. billie holiday is her girl. comes from a fabulous family of 7…yes, 7, her being the eldest. i just love gingy. she is my current roommate and makes fabulous peach tea. i have decided to take her with me to the new place. it would not be complete without her.

and last but certainly not least…

ollipop (pronounced[Auh-LEE-pop])

this girl is nuts. ok i kid i kid. she is very…eclectic. loves comics. and zombies. she has been part of my concert group for the past few months and we always have a blast. she is hilarious. and chill. she is the newest of the bunch but i am stoked to add her in. oh and lets not forget our common love for AVATAR. we both want to be an avatar.

so imagine us four girls chillin outside our new home (without keys) just dreaming of what the next year is going to be like. and then add in our sparkling white grape…cider? with fake champagne glasses and a notepad declaring our house name and rules/guidelines. i don’t know if the “sparkling” white grape cider was really “sparkling”…but after about an hour or so, we had laughed off our mimi’s cafe dinner and dubbed holly as a mean fake drunk. seriously though…so excited to move in with these girls. its the perfect place for all of us. so cheers to a fabulous year in a fabulous house with fabulous girls.

oh and PS- NY trip is being pushed back ONE MONTH. who knew moving into a new place would be so expensive? i was super sad about it. buuuut it should be greaaat. :)

one day

i came upon this great book the other day while at barnes & noble…called, “One Day” by David Nicholls. To sum it up..its a british version (almost) of when harry met sally. its moments, good and bad on july 15th every year through 20 years of two best friends. i love spending my weekends just reading a great book and this past weekend was well worth staying in reading this book. whoever does read this blog (thank you roomies), you should definitely read this book. for lack of a better review…its very real. and very witty. i loved it. and of course there will be a film made based on this book…anne hathaway & jim sturgess? yes please.

Days

What are days for?
Days are where we live.
They come, they wake us
Time and time over.
They are to be happy in:
Where can we live but days?

Ah, solving that question
Brings the priest and the doctor
In their long coats
Running over the fields.

I <3 NY

New York is the only real city-city. Truman Capote

In 51 days…i will be in New York City. For years, i felt that this idea was unreachable…but it really wasn’t. one day (this past Tuesday), i was sitting at work dreaming of fall…it went something like this..

‘oh scarves and boots and coats and gloves and pumpkins and christmas decor/music and cold weather…sigh, i live in arizona…if only i could go to new york…’ then flashes of my favorite new york movies went through my mind (home alone 2, you’ve got mail, serendipity, miracle on 34th street [old&new], rear window, one fine day,  an affair to remember, big, the way were were, when harry met sally, three men and a little baby/lady, curlie sue, and ELF…just to name  few) allll at once. and then i realized that i should probably go. just do it.

so i emailed two of my friends… “lets go to new york” …

3 days, 7 hours of planning and X amount of money later…me, holly, and chelsey have our flights purchased and are going to new york!

is it bad that all i can think of all day every day is new york? everyone i know is obsessed with this place and i feel i may be converted from a west coast girl to new york. which is ok with me.

Probably one of my favorite things is live music. Going to shows and hearing good music raw, definitely gives you this intense high. Its been so much fun looking back at the variety of shows I’ve been to…starting with Shania Twain (heyyy it was back in the day) all the way to Muse. I looove taking photos of the band especially the lead singer. I feel kind of bad because the rest of the band is fun to shoot but not as fun as the lead singer. I love trying to catch that moment that shows their passion for what they do which I envy so much. I’ve been to a ton of shows this past year but here are a few of my shots…of the lead singer of course. I’m headed to California this week to see Coheed & Cambria and I am bound to get a crazy shot of Claudio, their lead singer. They are known for this guy and his crazy hair

(Thomas-phoenix)

(dan-this providence)

(jack-steel train)

(claudio-coheed&cambria)

[I hope to get a shot of the guy above aaand maybe a lock of his hair?]

[creepy? yeah ok...]

Closer

Do you ever have those moments where you just feel like you get it…you just completely understand why everyone/everything is the way it is. I mean you’re living your life, and for me things have kind of become routine with a few surprises and bumps along the way but for the most part, just living life. And then its a Tuesday night (my friend has this theory that Tuesdays are worse than Mondays, she may be right) and you just start thinking about things. You take a step back and look at everything from every angle. Who, what, where, when, why & how. I look at at everything and you know what, I get it. And I am completely happy with the way things are. I am so content on who I am and who I have in my life. I don’t regret a thing I’ve done or may not have done. I am so excited for the things in my future. Everyone around me has these amazing moments going on in their lives; getting married, starting a family, graduating from college, traveling around the world…and for me, this is pretty close. I’m not engaged, married, a mom, no college degree, no passport (so sad) but for me, that’s ok. I am completely happy with where and who I am. Don’t get me wrong, that will probably change. But for tonight, I am good.

Closer to God
Closer for sure
Close your eyes
And watch me become more
Become more
Become more
Watch me become more
